Ok, here’s how I judge Met looks: 1) Did they actually get the theme? 2) Does the outfit flatter them? 3) Would I want to wear it?
Based on my very scientific method, here are my favorites…
(Also, I’m not a fan of when people list a million favorite looks—give us 3 or 4. Let’s not overwhelm the people. Haha)
Zoe Saldana (Thom Browne): I gasped when I saw this look—hands down my favorite. The sculpted top is insanely flattering, and the flowing bottom makes her look like a 6-foot-tall goddess sculpture. It's so feminine and sexy, even though it’s fully covered up. I’m in love.
Rose (Saint Laurent): Saint Laurent suiting is my absolute favorite—it's that perfect mix of elegant, androgynous, and still very feminine. I’m obsessed with the pop of red from the shoe.
Andra Day (Jerome LaMaar): This hot pink suit is everything. The color looks incredible against her skin tone. The diamond binoculars are such a campy touch and the gloves with the jewelry layered on top is so, so, so cool. I love how the jacket cinches her waist perfectly—so flattering. And the plunging neckline strikes the perfect balance: not too much, just the right amount of sexy without being vulgar
Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Sora Choi, Alex Consani and Adut Akech (Girlies in Swarovski): I’m going to love anything Swarovski—hands down, they’re always my favorite Met Gala looks. The pastel colors are such a unique twist for this theme, and the opulence of the jewels is just fantastic I’m obsessed with the contrast between the feminine head and neck pieces and the sharply tailored, masculine suits—it’s such a stunning juxtaposition. The diamond tie and waist coat on Giovanna, just wow.
